Bettina Bakdal graduated from the Danish Royal Academy of Design in Copenhagen in 1996. Sustainable thinking has shaped her practice ever since. Every stage, from the first idea to the finished garment, takes place in her own studio in the heart of Copenhagen.

She works with vintage dresses, scarves, tablecloths and shirts, carefully sourced from flea markets and second-hand shops on her travels. Deadstock silk and viscose from French and Italian fashion houses complement these found materials.

For the past ten years, vintage silk scarf dresses have been a particular focus. Each is one of a kind, reflecting Bettina’s belief in aesthetic sustainability: creating clothes whose beauty makes you want to keep and wear them for years. Designed for all ages, the dresses are made to fit most sizes.

Rooted in slow fashion, her approach brings together beauty, comfort and individuality. She works artistically with compositions of pattern, print and colour, giving each simple dress a distinct expression.

Every garment is intended to become something personal to its wearer, a piece of their own, carrying a title and the date it was made.
